ACS International Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Middle School Science Teacher to join our vibrant Hillingdon campus in Uxbridge.
This is an exciting opportunity to teach General Science to students aged 10–14, supporting learners with a wide range of skills, interests and abilities. Our programme draws on both American/Common Core and IB curricula, and we welcome teachers from a variety of curriculum backgrounds, including UK, US and IB. A particular strength or specialism in Biology would be highly desirable.
The Role
As a Middle School Science Teacher, you will:
- Teach General Science to students aged 10–14 in the Upper School
- Plan and deliver engaging, challenging and appropriately differentiated lessons
- Inspire students to develop curiosity, confidence and a passion for science
- Use technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning
- Contribute positively to the wider school community and collaborate with colleagues
- Provide meaningful feedback that supports students' academic progress and personal development.
Start Date: 23 November 2026
Contract End Date: 23 June 2027 (end of the academic year)
Working Hours: Full time, term time, Monday–Friday

About You
We are looking for a teacher who:

- Demonstrates consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct

- Is based in the UK/has a UK passport as visa sponsorship is not possible.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- A Bachelor's degree or Bachelor of Education
- A recognised teaching qualification, such as PGCE, QTS, teaching licence/certification or equivalent
- Fluent, professional-level written and spoken English
- Strong IT skills, with experience using technology to enhance teaching and learning
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing.
Desirable:
- Two or more years of post-qualification Science teaching experience with the relevant age groups
- Experience teaching Biology or a strong Biology specialism
- Experience with an international curriculum or school environment
- Experience with American/Common Core and/or IB curricula
- Experience using Apple products and technology to support learning.
- Teachers from a variety of curriculum backgrounds are encouraged to apply
- Experience in an international school is desirable but not essential.
Eligibility
This is a maternity cover position and ACS is unable to provide visa sponsorship. Applicants must therefore already have the right to work in the UK and be able to work at our Hillingdon campus.
