Nursery Manager
29.25 hours per week, Term Time
8:00am-6:15pm, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. There is the option to increase to 4 days per week.

Pitstop Nursery is a warm and welcoming, not-for-profit nursery that uses the Curiosity Approach principles to create a rich learning environment to enable children to be creative and confident learners. We focus on learning through play in a home-from-home environment to enable children to feel happy and relaxed.
We are looking for an Nursery Manager who has a passion for working with babies and young children, helping them to flourish in a fun, friendly and caring environment. The successful person for the role will be an enthusiastic and committed member of the team who is happy to get stuck in to all aspects of nursery life, while demonstrating excellent leadership and knowledge.
You will need at least 2 years experience in Early Years and have experience in a managerial/supervisory role. Responsibilities will include staff management, daily management of setting, activity planning, social media posts, communicating with parents and organisations, being responsible for key children and supporting families. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all statutory, legal and setting obligations are followed and met.
Our Nursery is based at the Play House, Hall Farm Road, Melton.
Essential:
- Full and relevant level 3 qualification or above in childcare or equivalent
- Extensive knowledge of safeguarding
- Robust knowledge of the EYFS
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- The ability to work as part of a team and use your own initiative
- The ability to manage your own time and prioritise tasks
- Proven IT skills

You will also have the opportunity to work at our Holiday Club based at Deben Community Farm in Melton, where children have many opportunities including interacting with animals, exploring our wooded area or enjoying some craft activities. You must enjoy working outside and have an understanding of the Playwork Principles.

Pay: £15.75-£20.00 per hour
