Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Groundworker/HGV Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and the ability to operate various types of machinery and tools. Responsibilities
- Operate lorries to transport goods to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe for operation.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and ensure compliance with all transport regulations.
- Use power tools and hand tools for loading and unloading materials as necessary.
- Assist in groundworking
- tasks, including digging, kerbing flagging barrowing and maintenance when required.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients by providing excellent customer service during deliveries.
- Report any mechanical issues or concerns regarding the vehicle promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience as a lorry driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with using power tools, hand tools, and basic mechanical knowledge is essential.
- Experience in groundworking essential
- A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type is required.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are necessary for maintaining delivery schedules and logs.
