Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrician to work on shift in our dynamic maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and installing electrical equipment in line with regulatory and ISO standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with solid electrical experience to contribute to the safety and efficiency of our operations. The position requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Job Details:
- 35 hours per week
- 2 Shifts - 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. / 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Fridays 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. / 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Duties
- To carry out the most appropriate and effective repairs to electrical & electronic equipment in line with engineering standards and legislative requirements (ISO Standards, Current Electrical Wiring Regulation Certification etc.).
- To carry out test and inspection of electrical & electronic equipment in line with testing timetables.
- To maintain stock spares to the agreed levels to provide continuous running of all essential electrical & mechanical plant and equipment.
- To support the Planned Preventative Maintenance system, ensuring actions are completed in line with requirements.
- To carry out in house calibrations in line with company policies and procedures.
- To assist in installation and maintenance of engineering projects.
- Contribute to engineering/electrical and instrumentation drawings and documentation.
- To assess the risks associated with all work carried out and take adequate precautions.
- To preserve product quality by considering the opportunities for product contamination and product failure; taking appropriate control measures to prevent defects occurring.
- To drive for a proactive maintenance system in order to decrease reactive maintenance downtime.
- To support process improvements and be receptive to change in order to develop working practices within the maintenance team.
- Handle materials safely, demonstrating the highest regard for the environment and our safety.
- To adhere to the site Permit to Work system and follow all stipulated controls.
- To have a good understanding of safety and environmental legislation and HSE compliance.
Requirements
- Time-served Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Current Electricial Wiring Regulation Certification desireable.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment to challenging deadlines.
- Background in manufacturing is essential, though experience in an electrical cable manufacturing environment would be a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge of AC drive control systems.
- Experience of electrical maintenance and installation preferably in a heavy engineering environment.
- Ability to read technical drawings/schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with a proactive attitude towards safety and quality assurance.
- Strong organisational skills with the capacity to prioritise tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently on shift schedules while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
