Sales Booking Coordinator
About the Role
Salary: £26,000
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday
We are looking for a proactive, customer-focused and commercially minded Sales Booking Coordinator to join our commercial team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing customer enquiries from initial contact through to booking, providing tailored solutions that meet customer requirements while supporting the commercial success of the business.
This isn't a traditional or hard-sales role. You'll build strong relationships with customers, understand their individual needs and use your communication, relationship-building and commercial skills to turn opportunities into successful bookings.
You'll take a consultative approach, asking the right questions to understand what the customer really needs, recommending suitable solutions and proactively following up opportunities to help move bookings forward. Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, you'll ensure a smooth journey from enquiry to successful booking.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in customer service, sales, hospitality, travel, reservations, bookings, recruitment, lettings, account management or another customer-facing role who enjoys working in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment and is motivated by achieving results.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inbound customer enquiries from initial contact through to booking, taking ownership of both the relationship and outcome.
- Respond to enquiries promptly and proactively, ensuring agreed service standards and response times are consistently met.
- Speak directly with customers to understand their requirements, priorities and preferences.
- Provide tailored recommendations based on customer requirements, confidently guiding customers towards the most suitable solution rather than simply providing quotations.
- Build strong relationships with customers, taking the time to understand their preferences and providing a personalised service.
- Contact external suppliers to source suitable options, negotiating rates, availability and terms where appropriate to achieve the best possible commercial outcome.
- Take a proactive, phone-led approach to customer communication to maximise conversions and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Proactively follow up enquiries and opportunities, working towards agreed conversion and performance targets.
- Ensure all information is accurate and up to date throughout the process.
- Work closely with colleagues across sales, operations and customer support to ensure a seamless handover.
- Take ownership and accountability for each enquiry, ensuring customers receive a high-quality service from initial contact through to successful completion.
- Contribute to customer retention and commercial growth by delivering an efficient, professional and consultative service.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in customer service, sales, reservations, hospitality, travel, bookings, recruitment, lettings, account management or a similar customer-facing role. However, previous sales experience isn't essential if you have the right drive and confidence.
- Enjoys speaking with customers, building relationships and turning opportunities into results.
- Is confident picking up the phone and starting conversations.
- Is naturally curious, asks good questions and takes the time to understand what customers really need.
- Can build rapport and influence decisions without taking a hard-sales approach.
- Is proactive and comfortable following up opportunities rather than waiting for things to happen.
- Is commercially minded and motivated by working towards targets and achieving measurable results.
- Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Can prioritise multiple enquiries in a fast-paced environment.
- Has strong communication skills.
- Takes ownership and accountability for their work and individual performance.
- Works well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Is confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service
