Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fire Sprinkler Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire sprinkler systems across various construction sites and facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing, mechanical systems, and welding techniques, with an emphasis on safety and precision. The Fire Sprinkler Fitter will work closely with project managers and other trades to ensure that systems are installed efficiently and in compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to accurately install fire sprinkler systems.
- Assemble, install, and maintain fire sprinkler piping using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Perform MIG, TIG, and welding to join pipes and fittings securely.
- Use soldering techniques where necessary to ensure leak-proof connections.
- Measure and cut pipes accurately using appropriate tools to fit designated spaces.
- Install sprinkler heads, valves, and control systems according to specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and repairs on existing fire sprinkler systems.
- Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate installation schedules and site safety protocols.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations as well as industry standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, soldering, and welding techniques.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to plumbing, piping systems, and construction processes.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as wrenches, pipe cutters, and pliers; as well as power tools including drills and saws.
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and system layouts.
- Experience with assembly of piping systems and plumbing components.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures for fire sprinkler systems.
- Good understanding of construction site safety practices and regulations.
