We are looking for an experienced Yard Foreman/Women to join our busy Norwich depot.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being organised, takes pride in maintaining a safe and efficient yard, and is confident leading a small team. Experience within the roofing or building materials industry would be an advantage, but it is not essential as full training will be provided.
What will I be doing?
- Taking responsibility for the safe and efficient day-to-day running of the yard.
- Supervising yard and FLT operations, ensuring Health & Safety procedures are followed.
- Managing the picking, loading and preparation of customer orders and deliveries.
- Checking incoming deliveries, stock levels and ensuring materials are stored correctly.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and well-organised yard.
- Providing a professional and helpful service to customers and suppliers.
- Supporting and leading the yard team, raising any issues with the Branch Manager.
- Ensuring all relevant paperwork, stock records and company procedures are completed correctly.
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience working in a busy yard, warehouse or merchant environment.
- Ideally have knowledge of roofing or building materials.
- Be organised, reliable and able to work well under pressure.
- Have good communication skills and the ability to lead by example.
- Have a strong understanding of Health & Safety.
- Be computer literate and willing to learn new systems and procedures.
- Take pride in providing excellent customer service.
