Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Carer to join our care team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to providing high-quality care for our residents. A valid driving licence is essential, as the role may involve assisting with transportation needs. Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of carers, ensuring the delivery of compassionate and professional care
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and medication management in accordance with care plans
- Develop, review, and update individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff members to promote best practices in care delivery
- Support residents' emotional wellbeing through meaningful engagement and companionship
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and resident progress using IT systems
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Assist with transportation duties as required, ensuring safe driving practices are adhered to
Requirements
- Proven experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior or elderly care
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Valid driving licence with clean driving record is essential for transportation duties
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to implement personalised care strategies
- Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting the wellbeing of older adults
- Ability to work flexibly across various shifts as required by the role
