We are seeking a motivated and skilled Motor Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety standards through MOT testing. Your expertise will help us deliver reliable service and keep our customers’ vehicles running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and servicing using a variety of hand tools and power tools.
- Perform MOT testing in accordance with legal requirements and industry standards to ensure vehicles meet safety regulations.
- Identify mechanical issues accurately and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
- Use heavy lifting equipment safely to handle vehicle components during maintenance procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of all work carried out, including parts used and diagnostics performed.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized workshop environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills to explain repairs clearly to customers.
- Previous experience in vehicle maintenance or MOT testing is highly essential.
