HAPPA Café – Shores Hey Farm, Briercliffe, Burnley
HAPPA Café is looking for a friendly, reliable, and hardworking Café Assistant to join our welcoming team. Located at Shores Hey Farm — home of the HAPPA equine welfare charity — our café offers a warm, community‑focused environment where excellent customer service is essential.
This role is predominantly weekends and would suit a school (16+) or college student looking for part‑time work alongside their studies.
Key Details
- Hours: 12 hours per week, worked on a rota basis
- Shifts: Predominantly weekend shifts, with additional hours available during school holidays
- Flexibility: Applicants must be flexible to meet the needs of the business, including weekends, occasional evenings, and peak holiday periods
- Age Requirement: Suitable for applicants aged 16+
- Location: Due to our rural location, a full UK driving licence or access to reliable transport is essential
Key Responsibilities
- Providing friendly, consistent customer service to all visitors
- Taking orders and handling payments accurately and confidentially
- Preparing and serving drinks, cakes, and light food items
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation at all times
- Supporting colleagues during busy service periods
- Working effectively as part of a small, supportive team
About You
- Friendly, polite, and customer‑focused
- Reliable, punctual, and keen to learn
- Happy working in a busy café environment and on your feet
- Able to commit to regular weekend work
- Previous hospitality experience would be advantageous but not essential — full training provided
