Job Title: Roofer (Craft) (Facilities Management and Building Services)
Location: Durham, DH7 8XL
Contract duration: 3+ Months
Working Hours: 37 hours per week – (08:00-17:00)
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: PAYE £18.68 per hour
Job Responsibilities:
- Carry out roofing repairs, maintenance and related building work to the required specification
- Work independently or as part of a team, as instructed
- Follow all health and safety procedures, instructions and training
- Identify and report any safety hazards to the Manager
- Use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly
- Work safely at height and use appropriate access equipment
- Complete timesheets and other required documentation accurately
- Provide a high-quality, cost-effective service and maintain good customer satisfaction
- Work flexibly and carry out other reasonable duties within the role's level of responsibility and competence
Person Specification:
Essential:
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 in Roof Covering or equivalent
- Relevant trade apprenticeship
Experience:
- Experience working on commercial properties
- Experience in a repairs and maintenance environment
- Relevant roofing experience
- Experience working at height and using appropriate access equipment
Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Good customer care skills
- Basic IT skills
Personal Qualities:
- Self-motivated and reliable
- Good team worker
- Able to work on own initiative
- Good communication skills
Special Requirements:
- Able to work flexibly and under pressure to meet deadlines
- Valid driving licence for the required category of Council vehicle
- Able to complete and pass the Council's in-house Driver Induction Assessment
Desirable:
- CSCS card
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Experience with Resistrix products
