Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a 7.5-tonne flatbed vehicle to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and delivering exceptional service, ensuring timely and secure transportation of products to our clients. Applicants must possess a valid driving licence and relevant experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 7.5 Tonne flatbed vehicle to complete scheduled deliveries and collections
- Ensure all deliveries are made in accordance with route plans and delivery schedules
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly
- Secure loads properly on the flatbed to prevent movement during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon completion of each delivery
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding delivery status or any unforeseen delays
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when required, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed
Qualifications
- Valid UK Category C1 (7.5 Tonne) driving licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar lorries
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure load handling
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently across multiple deliveries
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and professional attitude towards clients and colleagues
