Mechanical Fitter – Manchester (Trafford Park)
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:00 – 16:30, Friday 07:00 – 15:30 (44 hours per week)

Earning Potential – Salary:
Up to £15.60 per hour (dependent on experience)
Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate
Realistic OTE: £35,000 – £37,000 (including overtime)
Overview
We're looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established bodybuilding specialist in Trafford Park. You'll be installing insulated panels on commercial freezer bodies, terminating lighting and tail lifts, and working from engineering drawings – full training provided. Our client is an ISO-accredited employer with high staff retention and a reputation for quality work. If you're practical, reliable, and ready for a stable role, this is the one.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing insulated panels on commercial freezer bodies
- Electrically terminating lighting, switches, and tail lifts
- Sealing joints, floors, and roofs with silicone and gel coatings
- Cutting metals, woods, and plastics using hand tools and bench equipment
- Reading engineering drawings and working from works orders
- Working independently and on own initiative to achieve timelines and standards
- Maintaining good housekeeping across all work areas – workshops, vehicles, and on-site locations
- Ensuring compliance with company H&S, maintenance procedures, and quality control
- Completing any other reasonable tasks as directed by management
What You'll Need
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter (essential)
- Excellent understanding of the manufacturing process
- Experience using hand tools, bench saws, and measurement equipment safely
- Health and safety aware – you put wellbeing first
- Own transportation or ability to reliably travel to site
