Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Commis Chef/Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will support the kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. Duties
- Assist in food preparation, including peeling, chopping, and basic cooking tasks under supervision
- Support the kitchen team with meal assembly and presentation
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in all kitchen areas
- Ensure all food safety protocols are followed diligently
- Help with washing, sanitising, and storing kitchen utensils, equipment, and ingredients
- Support serving staff during busy periods to ensure smooth service flow
- Contribute to a positive working environment by working collaboratively with team members
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous but not mandatory
- Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on varied responsibilities
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends if necessary
