Technical Manager (Gas & Plumbing)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Manager with a background in Gas, Plumbing and drainage to join our growing team. This role is responsible for overseeing the technical operations of the business, managing engineering teams, and ensuring all work is delivered efficiently, compliantly, and to the highest standards.
You will work closely with the control room and the customer service team to maintain clear communication between engineers and customers, proactively resolve technical issues, and build strong, professional relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and supervise the engineering team, providing technical guidance, ongoing support, and regulatory updates
- Proactively identify and resolve technical issues before they escalate into customer complaints
- Work collaboratively with the Customer service team to resolve customer complaints effectively
- Ensure full compliance across all gas, plumbing and drainage works, with installations meeting current regulations and quality standards
- Liaise directly with customers to provide technical support, quotations, and advice as required
- Develop and implement strategies to improve technical processes, efficiency, and overall performance
- Recruit, onboard, and train new engineers to support business growth
- Conduct site visits, meetings, and quality control spot checks as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Gas Safe registered (in date)
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience within the plumbing and heating trade
- G3 qualification
- Relevant, up-to-date plumbing qualifications (minimum NVQ Level 2)
- Experience working in a technical office-based role
- Strong IT and computer literacy skills
- Full UK driving licence (required)

- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Location: HQ Office, Bracknell (RG12), with regular travel for meetings and quality control inspections
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- 9-hour shifts
- 1 weekend day in 4
- Overtime available upon request
- Bank holidays to be requested separately as part of annual allowance.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience plus overtime opportunities
