Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 2 HGV Driver to join our team. Full or part time work. Day work only. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of goods across various locations, ensuring compliance with all relevant road and safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Operate a Class 2 HGV (lorry) vehicle in accordance with legal and company requirements
- Safely load, secure, and unload goods, ensuring they are transported without damage
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel efficiency
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any maintenance or safety issues
- Comply with all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies during driving duties
- Assist with the loading and unloading process when necessary, ensuring proper handling of goods
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status or issues
Qualifications
- Valid Category C (Class 2) HGV licence with relevant driving experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent driving skills with a good driving record
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently under minimal supervision
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and safe cargo handling
