Overview
We are a leading bespoke fire door manufacturer seeking a reliable and detail-focused Quality Inspector to support our production team. This hands-on role will be vital in ensuring that products meet the company’s high-quality standards before dispatch.
This is a key role requiring confidence, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about quality assurance and continuous improvement within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This is a physical role and will require manual handling of doors.
Duties
- Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections of products against manufacturing schedules.
- Ensure finished goods meet internal specifications and customer requirements
- Identify, document, and report non-conformances clearly and accurately
- Quarantine and escalate defective or incorrect products in line with procedures
- Complete inspection records and quality documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company quality standards and procedures
Process Compliance & Standards
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of internal doors, fire doors and door fittings
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and quality management systems
- Promote a right-first-time culture
- Communicate quality concerns effectively to production staff and management
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the departments
What We’re Looking For
- A reliable and confident individual who can work independently
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
- Strong decision-making skills and the confidence to challenge quality issues is a must
- Good communication skills to liaise with production and management teams
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Basic computer skills for quality recording and reporting
- Previous quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential
- Understanding of door manufacture is desirable but not essential
