Assistant Manager – Little Loaf Redland
Full time – 42 hours per week over 4 days
Little Loaf Redland is looking for an exceptional Assistant Manager to help lead one of Bristol's most loved neighbourhood cafés.
The Bristol Loaf is an independent, organically certified bakery, café and wine bar with a passion for outstanding food, coffee and hospitality. As we continue to grow, we're looking for someone who shares our commitment to genuine hospitality, high standards and creating welcoming spaces for both our customers and our team.
Working closely with the General Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the café, leading the team by example and ensuring every customer receives the warm, thoughtful service we're known for. About you
We're looking for someone with:
- At least two years' management or supervisory experience in hospitality
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- A passion for customer service and creating memorable guest experiences
- Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Confidence managing busy services and multiple priorities
- Experience with rota management, staff development and training
- A proactive attitude and a genuine desire to learn and grow within the business
The role
As Assistant Manager you'll help oversee the daily operation of the café, including:
- Leading shifts and supporting the wider team
- Delivering The Bristol Loaf's service standards and atmosphere
- Opening, closing and cash handling
- Managing stock, ordering and maintaining stock control
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and health & safety
- Supporting staff training, coaching and development
- Monitoring labour costs and helping deliver site KPIs
- Working closely with the kitchen, bakery and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations
- Coordinating customer orders, including online and special orders
- Supporting relationships with wholesale customers where required
- Helping drive a positive, supportive and motivated team culture
You'll also
- Be the General Manager's right hand and confidently run the site in their absence
- Help maintain exceptional quality across our coffee, bakery and food offering
- Lead by example, setting the standard for hospitality, professionalism and teamwork
- Bring ideas, energy and initiative as we continue to grow
