About the Role
HJ Talent is currently recruiting for compassionate and dedicated Children’s Residential Support Workers to join a residential home in the Stoke-on-Trent area.
You will be supporting children and young people in a safe, structured and nurturing environment, helping them overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes. This is a highly rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference in young people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality day-to-day care and emotional support
- Create and maintain a safe, stable and supportive home environment
- Support young people with education, appointments and activities
- Build positive, trusting and professional relationships
- Encourage independence, life skills and personal development
- Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding policies
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people
- Previous experience in residential care, youth work or social care (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins
- A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
Essential Requirements
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Full UK driving licence (desirable but not essential)
