Role Overview
As a Project Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and timely delivery of our renewable energy projects. Your focus will be on coordinating resources, liaising with customers, and supporting project delivery from start to finish. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has a strong eye for detail.
You will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure delivery targets are met and customer satisfaction remains high.
Our projects span solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging installations for homes and businesses across the region. You’ll own each job from the point it’s handed over by our sales team through to survey, installation, commissioning, and final sign-off — making sure every stage runs to plan and nothing slips through the gaps.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Communication
- Schedule projects in alignment with delivery targets, team capacity, and customer availability.
- Monitor project timelines to ensure installations are completed on time and within budget.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, delivery teams & contractors
- Ensure clear, documented communication, providing regular updates on the stages of the installation and proactive solutions to any project issues.
- Uphold excellent customer service standards throughout all stages of project delivery, keeping customers informed from sales handover to project completion and handover to the customer
- Liaise with third parties involved in a project (scaffolding, groundworks company) to ensure these are in place before installation occurs and achieves a successful delivery of the project
Documentation & Reporting
- Manage and maintain all project documentation, including checklists, delivery notes, and electrical certification.
- Ensure handover packs are completed and issued on time.
- Register completed installations for MCS certification and issue certificates to customers.
- Log Building Control notifications and make sure electrical certificates (EICs) are completed and filed for every job.
- Identify and report efficiency opportunities or risks to the Operations Manager.
Resource Coordination
- Allocate resources (people, vehicles, equipment) to meet project demands and delivery targets.
- Confirm all materials, panels, inverters, batteries, and mounting kit are ordered, delivered, and checked against the design before each install date.
- Book scaffolders, roofers, and subcontractors in the right order and confirm they’re locked in ahead of the job.
- Liaise with procurement to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials.
Aftercare & Problem-Solving
- Deal with any snags or callbacks quickly, arranging return visits and keeping the customer updated until the issue is fully resolved.
- Manage warranty claims and remedial work with manufacturers and installers where needed.
- Follow up with customers after handover to check they’re happy, and encourage reviews and referrals.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Project Timeliness - 95% of projects delivered on or before scheduled deadlines.
- Documentation Accuracy - 100% of handover packs completed and delivered within 3 working days of project completion.
- Resource Allocation Efficiency - Zero missed installations due to internal coordination or resource issues.
- Communication Responsiveness - Acknowledge and respond to all customer communications within 24 hours.
- Customer Satisfaction - Maintain an average customer feedback score of 4.7 out of 5 or higher.
- Snagging / Callback Rate - No more than 5% of installations needing a return visit for avoidable issues.
Skills & Experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and customer-facing confidence.
- Strong organisational skills, with ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workloads.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Confident with IT systems, including stock management and CRM platforms (training provided).
- Calm and methodical under pressure, able to juggle competing priorities and last-minute changes on site.
- Confident dealing with customers, engineers, and suppliers alike, on the phone and in writing.
- Good attention to detail when checking designs, orders, and compliance paperwork.
- Experience in construction or renewables is an advantage, but not essential – full training provided.
Pay: £34,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
