As our Warehouse Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day warehouse operation, leading and developing your team while maintaining high standards of safety, service and performance. You’ll keep the operation running smoothly while using performance data, continuous improvement and new ways of working to help shape our warehouse for the future.
What You’ll be Doing
- Lead the day-to-day warehouse operation, making sure customer orders are picked, packed and despatched accurately, safely and on time.
- Plan workloads and resources effectively, adjusting priorities throughout the shift to maintain service and productivity.
- Lead, support and develop Warehouse Supervisors and Operatives, creating a positive environment with clear expectations and accountability.
- Manage performance, attendance, training, and development with a consistent approach.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, housekeeping, and safe working practices across the warehouse.
- Monitor operational performance, including productivity, accuracy, despatch performance and labour efficiency, using data to identify areas for improvement.
- Investigate operational issues, understand root causes and put practical solutions in place.
- Working closely with management team on resource planning and management of overtime, absence cover and agency labour where required.
- Work closely with Customer Service, Stock Control, Operations, and other teams to resolve issues and maintain a smooth customer journey.
- Provide clear shift reporting and effective handovers between shifts.
- Act as a designated key holder, completing site security checks and responding to occasional out-of-hours alarm call-outs.
- Play an active role in continuous improvement, operational change and initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste and unnecessary costs.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a dynamic and experienced warehouse leader who is comfortable taking ownership, making decisions and working in a fast-paced environment. You’ll know how to balance the needs of the operation with developing and supporting the people within your team.
Essential
- At least 3 years’ experience in a warehouse management role.
- Demonstrable experience leading, managing and developing warehouse teams.
- Good knowledge of warehouse operations, health and safety, and performance management.
- Confident managing workloads, resources and changing operational priorities.
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using operational data, reports, and KPI’s to monitor performance and make decisions.
Desirable
We’d particularly like to hear from you if you also have:
- Experience working with warehouse automation or automated warehouse systems.
- Experience supporting or leading change management or continuous improvement projects.
- Health and Safety certifications or relevant experience.
Working Pattern
This role works a combination of back and early shifts:
- Monday to Thursday: Back shift
- Friday: Early shift
There may occasionally be a requirement to provide additional shift cover depending on the needs of the operation.
As this position includes key-holder responsibilities and occasional out-of-hours alarm call-outs, you’ll need to live within a reasonable travelling distance of our site and be able to attend when required.
