Activ8 is looking for Wraparound Play Leaders to join our growing team across our Doncaster primary schools - Auckley, Canon Popham and St Oswald’s. You’ll support our high-quality after-school provision, focused on play, creativity, and connection - with the backing of your Settings Manager and our Childcare and Compliance Manager, who oversees all our provisions.
About the Role
As Play Leader, you’ll take the lead on:
Creating a welcoming and engaging wraparound environment
Supporting fun, age-appropriate activities across different themes
Safeguarding children’s wellbeing and promoting positive behaviour
Supporting the day-to-day running of the setting
Liaising with families, school staff, and the wider Activ8 team
Ensuring health & safety and food hygiene protocols are followed
Supporting setting manager in maintaining accurate records and upholding high standards
This is a term-time only, part-time role - ideal for someone looking for consistent work that fits around other daytime commitments.
What We’re Looking For
Experience with children, ideally in a school or childcare setting
A warm, positive, and proactive attitude
Good safeguarding knowledge (Level 2 or above preferred) or willingness to learn
Strong communication skills
Confidence leading both children and staff
A relevant Level 3 childcare qualification (preferred, not essential)
A team player who thrives in a caring, child-centred environment

The Process
Stage 1: Telephone interview, week commencing 27th July
Stage 2: Trial session in a current setting, 29th July
Stage 3: Follow-up interview after your trial
We’re looking to appoint by 31st July. Your first day is our training week beginning 21st August, with provision starting week commencing 31st August.
Sites and Hours (term-time)
Auckley Primary: after-school, 15:15 - 17:30 (12 hours per week)
Canon Popham C of E: after-school 15:00 - 17:30 (12.5 hours per week)
St Oswald‘s, Finningley, after-school, 15:15 - 17:30 (12 hours per week)
