The Role
We are recruiting qualified Detective Constables to join our Safeguarding and CID teams across the force area.
As a detective with Durham Constabulary, you'll investigate serious and complex crime, safeguard vulnerable people, pursue offenders and deliver justice for victims. Every day brings new challenges, requiring professionalism, resilience, curiosity and determination.
This is a role for people who thrive on problem-solving, building cases, uncovering vital evidence and making a lasting impact.
While policing is demanding and operational requirements mean shift working, nights, weekends and public holidays are part of the role, the rewards are significant. You will be supported by experienced colleagues and leaders who are committed to helping you succeed and progress.
Salary
- Current Police Constable pay point
- Plus 10% enhancement of the hourly rate for hours worked between 8pm and 6am
- Targeted Variable Payment for Safeguarding and CID roles
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for a Detective Constable transfer, you must:
- Be a substantive Detective Constable serving in a Home Office force
- Not be subject to a probationary period
- Have no outstanding disciplinary, integrity or performance matters
- Demonstrate a commitment to high attendance standards
- Show enthusiasm and commitment to Durham Constabulary's values and vision
- Hold a full UK manual driving licence
