A growing manufacturer of healthcare cabinets and work surfaces is looking for an experienced Beam Saw Operator / Wood Machinist to join our manufacturing team at our factory in Clevedon.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating a beam saw, panel saw or similar woodworking machinery, preferably with a joinery, furniture or cabinet manufacturing background. Candidates with good manufacturing experience from other backgrounds will also be considered, with full training provided on our machinery and materials.
This is an important role within our factory and requires someone who takes pride in their work, works accurately and is prepared to take responsibility for the quality and traceability of the materials they are processing.
Responsibilities:
- Operate our CNC beam saw to accurately cut materials to the required dimensions and production instructions.
- Identify and select the correct blade and cutting settings for different materials.
- Follow production processes and accurately identify and label materials to maintain full traceability.
- Complete production paperwork and job information accurately.
- Assist with the safe organisation and storage of sheet materials and offcuts.
- Sort and recycle offcut materials and manage production waste.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised saw area.
- Carry out routine cleaning and housekeeping of the machine and surrounding area.
- Training will be provided on our machinery, materials and production processes.
Specification
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating a beam saw, panel saw or similar woodworking machinery preferred.
- Furniture, joinery or cabinet manufacturing experience preferred.
- Competent IT user and able to follow computerised production instructions.
- Good technical ability and attention to detail.
- Able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Reliable, hardworking and positive in their approach to work.
- FLT licence preferred but not essential.
- Willingness to learn and take responsibility for the quality of your work.

This is a hands on manufacturing role and the successful candidate may be required to assist with other production duties when necessary.
Hours: 08:00 - 16:30, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Good rates of pay for the right candidate depending on skills and experience; 22 days holiday PA plus bank holidays.
