The next 3-5 years is forecasted to be a strong growth period for us, and we are investing in growth.
We support clients through this process in a number of ways, from conducting data-backed innovation experiments to design and launch ideas from concept to market, to instilling innovation capabilities and growth propositions in regional sector clusters. We deploy leading methodologies, alongside our own in house approaches, including AI-backed solutions and unique POVs.
We work with a diverse and expanding range of clients, across every industry and sector, including Sport England, Pearson, EY, the NHS, Target, Aptar, Pfizer, Institute of Cancer Research, Tamworth and Torbay Councils, Transport for London, Crisis, UCL and Imperial College London, amongst others. You can find out more about some of our work via our website.
We pride ourselves on delivering excellent client outcomes, whilst learning from every engagement, and having fun whilst doing it. We get to work on some of our clients most strategically important challenges, as well as help foster problem-solving and entrepreneurial skills in their teams — as well as in ours!
Our team brings a wide range of skills, experiences and interests to our projects. Importantly, we’re a diverse, fun-loving bunch of no-nonsense individuals with an eclectic mix of passions (from field hockey, basketball and tennis, to films, wine tasting and improvised theatre)!
We are people who care about what we do, how we do it and most importantly, why it matters. If you do too, then Studio Zao might just be the place where you can truly flourish.
Role
We’re looking to bring a Consultant into our team. This role reports to one of our Directors. We are looking for a passionate individual able to support the delivery of these engagements and programmes to join the team and be a part of its future growth.
This is an entry-level role, likely suitable for a recent graduate, or someone looking for a change of pace in a new and fast moving industry. We are very open to experiences from different backgrounds and perspectives.
Responsibilities will include:
- Develop, plan and implement both internal and client-facing innovation projects together with other team members
- Coordinate and help manage stakeholders to ensure an outstanding and flawless delivery and outputs, exceeding client expectations
- Create excellent client documentation and deliverables
- Support workshop and client-event facilitation, engaging in exciting collaboration activities and initiatives
- Support in business development and sales activities
This position is full time, with a competitive salary and a performance bonus on top.
Requirements
The below is an indicative, but not exhaustive or restrictive, list of experience, skills and mindsets that we are looking for in a successful candidate.
Strongly desired:
- Enthusiasm for and interest in Innovation - creation of new, better products and services will be at the heart of the role, as we imagine and tackle future horizons and approaches with our clients

- Resourceful and entrepreneurial attitude - we want someone who loves solving problems and thinking about solutions, and is willing to put the extra effort in to come up with fantastic ideas and propositions!
- Attention to detail, resilience to thrive in ambiguous and fast paced environments!
- Most of all, being a team player is crucial - we like to have fun whilst working with our clients, and we have each other’s back. It’s important to us that everyone in our team shares that ethos and wants to be part of something greater than the sum of its parts.
Nice to have:
- Previous work experience with startups, innovation/ventures or incubation/acceleration programmes is a plus, but not essential — demonstrable interest in the way things work (or don’t work) is helpful
- Data and quantitative analysis experience
