Waking Nights 8pm -8am
We're looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Support Worker to provide person-centred support to a friendly and affectionate 30-year-old gentleman who is non-verbal and lives with autism and epilepsy.
This is a rewarding opportunity where no two days are the same. You'll support him to live as independently as possible, encourage community participation, assist with daily routines and provide companionship while ensuring his safety and wellbeing. Building a positive, trusting relationship is at the heart of this role.
He has a fantastic sense of humour and enjoys watching Mr Bean, Marvel films, Harry Potter, Scooby-Doo and Looney Tunes. He loves going out in his own mobility vehicle, exploring new places on long drives and finishing the day with a McDonald's teatime treat. Every fortnight, you'll support him to visit his mum and stepdad, which is something he always enjoys.
Essential requirements:
- Previous experience supporting people with autism and epilepsy
- A caring and positive attitude
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A commitment to promoting independence and person-centred care
- Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, including sleep-ins
