Responsibilities
- Providing assistance with personal care routines such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Supporting clients with mobility and transferring, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Preparing nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
- Administering medication in accordance with prescribed instructions
- Engaging clients in meaningful activities and behaviour management strategies
- Assisting with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Driving clients to appointments or social activities as required
- Monitoring health status and reporting any concerns promptly
- Offering specialised care for conditions such as Alzheimer's, dementia, or hospice needs
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is highly desirable but not essential all training given
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including medication administration and first aid
- Experience working with individuals suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's disease is preferred
- Familiarity with caregiving for seniors or children is advantageous
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform physically demanding tasks
- Proven skills in behaviour management and compassionate caregiving
- Valid driving licence is beneficial for transporting clients safely
