Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tree climberto join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and managing trees and landscapes to ensure safety, health, and aesthetic appeal. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, using specialised equipment and tools to perform pruning, felling, and planting activities. The ideal applicant will possess a strong understanding of horticulture, construction experience, and mechanical knowledge, with a passion for landscape maintenance and environmental care.
Duties
- Prune, trim, and shape trees to promote healthy growth and safety.
- Remove hazardous or dead branches using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Operate machinery such as excavators for tree felling or land clearing projects.
- Assist with planting new trees and shrubs, ensuring proper soil preparation and irrigation setup.
- Maintain equipment including garden tools, power tools, and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct regular landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, and weed control.
- Install or repair irrigation systems to support healthy plant growth.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with team members on large-scale projects involving construction or landscaping enhancements.
Experience
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating power tools, excavators, and other landscaping machinery.
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools for pruning, cutting, and shaping trees.
- Experience in construction or land development projects is advantageous.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and maintenance is a plus.
- Previous work involving gardening or horticultural practices will be considered an asset.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards is essential.
