Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, including training and mentoring junior team members
- Oversee food production processes to ensure efficiency and consistency in presentation and flavour
- Manage food safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of meals and customer satisfaction
- Assist in menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and inventory management
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment at all times
- Monitor portion control and minimise waste to optimise kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a hospitality or restaurant setting
- Supervising experience is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Good communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and front-of-house staff
- Passion for culinary arts with a creative approach to menu development
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is preferred
