Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a proactive Multi-Skilled Engineer to support the maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement of production equipment across the site.
Position Summary
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of production equipment through planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and continuous improvement activities. Working across a varied manufacturing environment, you will support the installation of new machinery, minimise downtime and help drive operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Reliability
- Take ownership of day-to-day maintenance activities across production operations.
- Carry out mechanical and electrical fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain and support production equipment including filling lines, blending equipment, pumps, conveyors, pneumatic systems and associated machinery.
- Diagnose and resolve breakdowns efficiently to minimise downtime and maximise production output.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance activities and ensure accurate maintenance records are maintained.
- Identify recurring equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
Engineering Support & Improvement
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and production efficiency.
- Assist with the installation, commissioning and improvement of new machinery and plant equipment.
- Support PLC fault finding and work alongside external automation providers where required.
- Lead minor engineering projects from concept through to completion.
- Provide technical support and guidance to production teams when required.
Spare Parts & Supplier Management
- Manage engineering spare parts inventory and ensure critical spares are available.
- Source and order replacement parts, components and maintenance consumables.
- Liaise with suppliers and external contractors for technical support when required.
Health & Safety
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across all engineering activities.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and engineering workmanship.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Recognised electrical qualification.
- Previous experience in a multi-skilled maintenance engineering role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to fault find electrical systems including motors, sensors and contactors.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
- Experience working with pneumatic systems and industrial production equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to fault finding.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- PLC fault-finding experience.
- Experience within a manufacturing or processing environment.
- Forklift or Telehandler licence, or willingness to gain through training.
- Experience supporting equipment installation and commissioning projects.
