Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and keen Junior Sous chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will support kitchen operations, assist in food preparation, and contribute to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. Duties
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
- Support food production processes to ensure timely service delivery
- Help oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations
- Supervise junior team members and coordinate team activities during shifts
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area
- Ensure all food safety standards are met and documented appropriately
- Contribute to menu planning and presentation alongside the culinary team
- Support in training new staff members and interns as required
- Assist with stock management, including ordering supplies and inventory checks
Skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Competence in food preparation, culinary techniques, and restaurant operations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for team coordination and customer service support
- Previous hospitality or serving experience is advantageous but full training is given
