Nursery Manager – Southbourne
JC Little Explorers Nursery
Are you an experienced Nursery Manager?
Are you looking for a new challenge?
Would you like to lead one of the fastest growing settings in the area!?
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to lead our Southbourne setting at JC Little Explorers. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident leader who is committed to delivering high-quality early years education, strong safeguarding practice and a warm, home-from-home environment.
This role is centred on running and growing our Southbourne setting, which we took over a little over twelve months ago. We've made a lot of positive changes already, and the nursery has huge potential to grow in numbers - this is very much a project for the right person, with the salary reflecting that growth over time.
For the right candidate, there is also the opportunity to take on a supportive, oversight role across our other setting alongside leading Southbourne. We are currently a small group of two nurseries with plans to grow to five-plus settings over time, and this position could develop into an Area Manager role overseeing all our nurseries as we expand.

- Lead the day-to-day running of the nursery
- Ensure full compliance with EYFS, Ofsted and safeguarding requirements
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (or be willing to train)

- Support and develop staff, including apprentices and room leaders
- Maintain high standards of teaching, learning and care
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers
- Oversee policies, risk assessments and quality improvement

- Level 3 Early Years qualification essential (Level 5+ desirable)
- Previous experience as a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager or similar
- Strong knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding
- Confident, supportive leadership style
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Passionate about child-centred, inclusive practice
What We Offer
- Fully negotiable salary based on the successful candidate
- Supportive senior leadership team
- A welcoming, values-led nursery environment
- Ongoing professional development opportunities
