Work Specifier

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Competitive
Shift Pattern: Monday–Thursday: 07:45–16:15 | Friday: 07:45–13:15
About the Role
Dalkia is looking for an organised, proactive and safety-focused Work Specifier to join our team at Torness Power Station.
In this key role, you will be responsible for developing approved work requests into detailed work orders and work packages, ensuring maintenance, facilities and operational activities are planned and executed safely, efficiently and in full compliance with nuclear, regulatory and site requirements.
Working closely with internal teams, EDF and subcontractors, you will play a vital role in supporting safe and reliable station operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop approved work requests into detailed work orders and work packages.
- Ensure work instructions are technically accurate, fully risk assessed and compliant with nuclear safety, regulatory and operational standards.
- Review and approve work orders prior to execution.
- Produce and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for both internal teams and subcontractors.
- Provide technical support and resolve work package queries before work execution.
- Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental performance across the facilities team.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with EDF and other key stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement in work planning, scheduling and execution.
- Ensure all work documentation is completed to the required quality standards.
About You
We're looking for someone with excellent planning and organisational skills who thrives in a highly regulated environment.
You will ideally have:
- A technical background in maintenance, engineering or facilities management.
- Experience in work planning, work control or work specification.
- A strong understanding of health, safety and quality requirements.
- IOSH Managing Safely or a similar health and safety qualification (desirable).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to prioritise workloads, solve technical issues and work effectively under pressure.
