Job Overview
We are seeking a Fully Qualified GCSE Maths Teacher to inspire and educate students in the vital subject of mathematics. Duties
- Plan and deliver dynamic GCSE-level maths lessons that align with national curriculum standards, ensuring clarity and student engagement.
- Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, assignments, and formal examinations, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies to create a positive and focused learning environment.
- Use various teaching methods, including tutoring and differentiated instruction, to meet the needs of all learners, including those in special education programs.
- Mentor and support students who require additional help with math concepts, fostering their confidence and understanding through personalized tutoring sessions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials, assessments, and innovative teaching techniques that enhance learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress reports, and behavioral observations for administrative purposes.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and areas for development.
Experience
- Fully qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent certification in secondary education with a focus on mathematics.
- Proven experience teaching GCSE maths at secondary school level with a track record of improving student achievement.
- Strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum requirements and assessment criteria.
- Experience mentoring or tutoring students to help them reach their academic potential.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to maintain an effective classroom environment.
- Familiarity with special education needs (SEN) procedures and strategies for inclusive teaching.
- Laboratory or scientific research experience is not required but may be beneficial for interdisciplinary lesson planning involving scientific concepts such as biochemistry or scientific research methods.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex mathematical concepts to diverse learners.
