Prestige Business Management Ltd · Ealing, West London (W5) Full-time, 40 hours per week
About the role
We're an established accountancy practice in Ealing looking after a broad portfolio of owner-managed businesses — limited companies, sole traders and partnerships across a wide range of sectors. No two clients look the same, and the work is varied because of it.
This is a hands-on role for someone who already knows their way around a set of accounts. You'll look after your own group of clients, keeping their books current, preparing their compliance work, and dealing with them directly. You'll have the team around you, but you won't be micro-managed.
What you'll be doing
- Bookkeeping across a portfolio of clients — purchase and sales ledgers, bank reconciliations, control accounts, asset ledger
- Preparing VAT returns and filing them under MTD
- Running weekly and monthly payroll, including RTI and auto-enrolment
- Preparing self-assessment tax returns
- Working up trial balances and assisting with limited company accounts preparation
- Contacting clients for records, chasing outstanding information and answering day-to-day queries
- Drafting client letters and correspondence
What you'll need
Essential
- Solid experience in a UK accountancy practice — you've prepared self-assessments, worked to a trial balance and assisted on limited company accounts before
- Confident with double entry and reconciliations, including working from incomplete records
- Practical knowledge of UK VAT and payroll compliance
- QuickBooks Online, and the adaptability to pick up other systems quickly
- Strong Excel
- Able to communicate clearly with clients in written and spoken English, since the role is client-facing
- Organised enough to manage your own deadlines across several clients at once
Helpful
- AAT qualified, or part-qualified ACCA/ACA
- Experience with MTD for Income Tax
- Exposure to a mixed portfolio rather than a single sector
Working here
We're a small, growing practice. That means real responsibility early, direct client relationships, and room to broaden your experience rather than doing the same task on repeat. It also means we want someone easy to work with — professional with clients, straightforward with colleagues.
- Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with flexibility on start and finish times provided you complete 40 hours a week
- Office-based in Ealing — please apply only if you're within a comfortable commute
- Free parking
- Casual dress
To apply
Apply through Indeed and complete the screening questions — applications without them won't be reviewed.
Please note we don't accept enquiries by phone or social media, and we're not looking to hear from recruitment agencies.
