We are looking for an Extra Care Wellbeing & Activities Coordinator to join our extra care team and create an engaging programme of activities, events and wellbeing opportunities for our residents. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the extra care team at our brand-new flagship Extra Care Scheme Griffin Court.
About The Role
You will be responsible for planning and delivering a varied programme that encourages residents to stay active, connected and involved in their community. You will get to know the residents, understand their interests and abilities and create activities that are inclusive and enjoyable for everyone. You will also work closely with colleagues, families, volunteers and local organisations to develop new opportunities and encourage residents to be part of a flourishing and thriving community to maintain a sense of purpose and identity and promote residents’ choice
This flagship 95-apartment development comprises 20 two-bedroom and 75 one-bedroom apartments, including 17 specialist apartments designed for people living with dementia. This is a unique opportunity to join the team from the launch of Griffin Court and play a key role in establishing a vibrant, supportive community for residents.
About You
This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated enthusiastic, positive compassionate and caring individual genuinely interested in residents’ wellbeing, with the ability to work calmly with people who have different needs and abilities creating a welcoming atmosphere.
You will have excellent communication skills, listens well and communicates clearly with residents, families and colleagues. Hold the flair for creativity and come up with enjoyable and meaningful activities.
You will be organised to plan activities, manage schedules and prepare resources, adapt activities when residents’ needs or circumstances change reliable and responsible following policies and procedures, notice changes in mood or behaviour or engagement.
You must be team orientated work well with care staff, families, volunteers and external organisations.
Previous experience of working within an Extra Care setting and a social housing environment is essential. Experience of supporting or delivering services for people living with dementia would be advantageous.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes are essential, as there will be a requirement to travel occasionally to other Karbon sites for training, to provide cover for colleagues across the wider team.
Working With Us
The successful candidate will join the Supported Housing Services Team, led by Team Manager Vicki Campbelland Supported Housing Manager Paul Wailes. Day-to-day onsite operations will be managed by Extra Care Scheme Manager Sharon Sykes.

- Extra Care Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator – Part Time
- Salary is £26,819.00 per annum Pro Rata
- Location: Griffin Court, Hebburn
- Occasional travel will be required
- 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
