Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Play Workers to join our brand new team across Chelmsford, Maldon and Witham on a part time basis. Centres will be running Monday-Friday during school hours for children aged from 6 months-school age. Days and hours are flexible, subject to business needs and candidate experience.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children during our structured play classes. This role involves guiding babies, toddlers and pre schoolers through balance, agility and co-ordination stations to develop the foundations of and instill a lifelong love of movement. The position offers an opportunity to work in an environement focused on child development and enjoyment, while appealing to those looking for a family friendly role to work around their own children.
Duties
- Supervise children during organised play sessions, ensuring their safety at all times
- Encourage the engagement of children to to support their physical and social development, including during circle time where children learn through music.
- Support children's emotional well-being by encouraging positive behaviour and inclusive play.
- Assist with unloading and loading the van and organising play equipment and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
- Support the planning and delivery of special events or themed activities as needed
- Monitor children's progress and provide feedback to parents or guardians when appropriate.
- Support the leader in regards to lesson plans, offering your observations to ensure they remain challenging for children as they develop their skills.
- Maintain Tumble Tots brand standards at all times.
Requirements
- Experience in childcare, nannying, teaching, or other class based roles is highly desirable
- Ability to communicate clearly and build relationships with children and their carers
- Valid driving licence preferred and access to a car as some centres are rural
- Passionate about working with children and fostering their development through play
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to monitor and support multiple children simultaneously
- Responsible, patient, and nurturing demeanour with a proactive approach to safety
- Flexibility to work during scheduled hours, including covering colleague sickness and occasional school holiday cover with appropriate notice.
- Team player who who responds well to instructions, feedback and will support colleagues as needed.
