Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Advisors to join our team, providing professional advice, guidance, and support to services across the Council. You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Council’s Health and Safety Programme, helping to ensure the safety, health, and wellbeing of our workforce and the communities we serve.

About the Role
In this role, you will:

Provide competent health and safety advice and guidance to a range of council services
- Support incident and accident investigations, identifying root causes and recommending improvements
- Assist in the development, delivery, and evaluation of health and safety training, including topics such as COSHH and fire safety
- Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures
- Contribute to audits, inspections, and risk assessments across service areas
- Analyse health and safety data to produce reports and identify trends to support performance improvement
- Support the ongoing development and improvement of health and safety systems, processes, and digital platforms
About You
We are looking for applicants who:

Have relevant experience within a health and safety environment
- Possess sound knowledge of health and safety legislation, standards, and best practice
- Are confident communicator, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels
- Can analyse information effectively and produce clear, concise reports
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Are proactive, inquisitive, and committed to continuous professional development
- Able to adapt to the changing demands and needs of the service
Experience delivering training and supporting investigations into incidents will be highly advantageous.
