We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team part time hrs . The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples safely and efficiently, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent patient care.
You will work in a supportive team environment, managing patient appointments, and ensuring samples are collected and processed in line with clinical protocols and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, and other blood collection procedures safely and efficiently.
- Verify patient identity and maintain accurate sample labeling and records.
- Use SwiftQueue or other patient management systems to manage appointments and queue flow.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, health and safety, and data protection policies.
- Prepare, store, and transport samples to the laboratory following standard procedures.
- Provide reassurance and support to patients to ensure a positive experience.
- Collaborate with nurses, laboratory staff, and clinical teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Maintain phlebotomy equipment and report any issues or shortages.
Essential Requirements
- Level 2 or 3 Phlebotomy Qualification or equivalent certification.
- Previous experience as a phlebotomist in a clinical or laboratory setting preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control, health and safety procedures, and patient care standards.
- Ability to use SwiftQueue or similar appointment systems effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and professional bedside manner.
Desirable
- Experience in hospital, clinic, or community healthcare environments.
- Ability to assist with training junior staff or students.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and laboratory information systems (LIS).
