Job Title: Temporary Management Accountant
Location: Wirral (Hybrid working may be available)
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 (pro rata)
Contract Type: Ongoing Temporary Assignment
Overview
We are recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant to join a well-established organisation based in the Wirral on an ongoing temporary basis. This is a hands-on role supporting the finance function through a busy period, requiring someone who can quickly integrate into the team and take ownership of key month-end and reporting processes.
This opportunity would suit a proactive finance professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can operate with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Full month-end close responsibilities
- Balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of variances
- Accruals, prepayments and journal postings
- Cashflow forecasting and analysis
- Budgeting and forecasting support
- Variance analysis with commentary for senior stakeholders
- Supporting audit processes where required
- Process improvement and support across transactional finance where needed
- Business partnering with operational teams
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience working in a Management Accountant or similar role
- Strong month-end and balance sheet reconciliation experience
- Confident preparing management accounts with minimal supervision
- Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS or equivalent)
- Experience working within fast-paced commercial environments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
- Studying towards or qualified AAT / ACCA / CIMA / ACA (or equivalent experience considered)

- Immediate or short notice availability preferred
- Ongoing temporary requirement with potential for extension
- Competitive day rate or salary equivalent available depending on experience
