Business Development Manager – Scotland
£38,000 basic + uncapped commission (OTE circa £59,000)
Company Car Included
Full-time, Monday–Friday (9:00am–5:30pm**)
A company you may not have heard of… but one that has lit up some of the most incredible spaces around the world.
Blachere Illumination is one of the global leaders in festive and decorative lighting. While our name might not always be front of mind, our work certainly is.
From major cities and iconic retail destinations to high streets and community spaces, we design, manufacture and install lighting displays that transform environments, attract visitors and create unforgettable experiences.
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of Scotland for a business that operates on a global scale, with a product and creative capability that genuinely stands apart.
The Role
This is not a typical sales position. It is where creativity meets commercial thinking.
You will be responsible for developing new business across Scotland, working with councils, BIDs, retail destinations and commercial clients to design and deliver lighting schemes that drive footfall, increase dwell time and enhance the overall customer experience.
You will be out on the road, meeting clients, understanding their spaces, and working with our in-house creative design team to bring ideas to life.
What You Will Be Doing
Developing your territory by generating new leads and opportunities
Building relationships with councils, BIDs, shopping centres and commercial clients
Carrying out site visits to understand both technical requirements and creative potential
Working closely with designers to create bespoke lighting concepts
Presenting proposals and managing the full sales process from first contact through to order
Acting as the main point of contact during project delivery
Identifying opportunities for repeat business and long-term partnerships
Managing your pipeline to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual targets
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone with energy, enthusiasm and a creative mindset.
You will need to be confident speaking to new people, comfortable picking up the phone, and equally strong when meeting clients face-to-face.
You should be commercially driven but also able to think creatively about how spaces can be transformed.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in B2B sales
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to manage your own diary and work remotely
Experience using CRM systems and managing a sales pipeline
Full UK driving licence
Willingness to travel across Scotland (approximately 75%)
Flexibility during peak season (September to December), including occasional weekend work
Experience in lighting, events, retail, property or commercial environments would be beneficial but is not essential.
What We Offer
£38,000 basic salary with uncapped commission (OTE circa £59,000)
Company car
The opportunity to represent a global market leader with a unique and creative product range
A role where your work has a visible, real-world impact on towns and cities
Long-term career opportunities within an international business
Why This Role Stands Out
Most sales roles focus on selling products.
This role is about creating something tangible. The work you win will be seen, experienced and enjoyed by thousands of people.
You will be helping shape how towns and cities present themselves, supporting local economies and creating environments people want to spend time in.
For the right person, this is more than a sales job. It is an opportunity to combine creativity, relationship building and commercial success in a way that few roles offer
