The purpose of this role is to coordinate and deliver a mentoring programme for care leavers aged 18–25, providing personalised, relationship-based support to individuals who may be disengaged from or at risk of disengaging from education, employment or training.
The post holder will manage a caseload of young people, many of whom will present with complex needs including low confidence, trauma, housing instability and limited support networks.
A key aspect of the role will be to build trusted relationships, understand each young person’s circumstances, strengths and aspirations and develop tailored mentoring plans to support their progression.
The Mentoring Officer will also support and oversee Volunteer Mentors, ensuring safe, effective and high-quality mentoring relationships.
