Cardiff and Vale College is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our Finance team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the College's purchasing and accounts payable functions, ensuring invoices, payments and procurement processes are managed efficiently and accurately. Working closely with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders across the College, you will help maintain effective financial operations while delivering a high standard of customer service.
You will be responsible for processing a high volume of supplier invoices, reconciling supplier accounts, resolving queries and supporting the timely completion of payment runs across the College and its subsidiaries. You will also help manage procurement administration, supplier data, purchase orders and online ordering systems, ensuring processes are accurate, compliant and efficient.
Working as part of a collaborative Finance team, you will build positive relationships with suppliers and colleagues, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support the ongoing development of effective purchasing and accounts payable processes.
You will have relevant experience in a finance, purchasing or accounts payable environment and possess excellent organisational, communication and customer service skills. You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
You will have strong attention to detail, excellent accuracy and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Candidates working towards an AAT qualification, or an equivalent professional qualification, are encouraged to apply.
