Key job responsibilities
- Develop advanced solutions in privacy, hypervisors, or IoT devices
- Work with state-of-the-art technologies like AWS Nitro System or Ring products
- Contribute to projects that define industry standards and push technological boundaries
- Design and implement innovative software solutions for complex, large-scale distributed systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceive, design, and deliver cutting-edge products and services
- Develop and optimize code for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment
- Contribute to the development of privacy-oriented services, hypervisors, or IoT device software
- Work on low-level system components, including operating systems and device drivers
- Implement security measures to protect customer data and ensure regulatory compliance
A day in the life
As a Specialised SDE-I, you'll immerse yourself in challenging projects that push the boundaries of technology.
You'll interact with and learn from experienced engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to solve complex problems and implement innovative solutions.
Your work will directly impact Amazon's global customer base, whether by enhancing privacy controls, improving EC2 instance performance, or developing new features for Ring devices.
- Are enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields
- Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant field
- Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, or Go
- Experience with data structure implementation, basic algorithm development, and/or object-oriented design principles
- Experience in embedded development in C/C++, or experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware
- Expected graduation between August 2026 - November 2026, OR graduated within the last 24 months
- Experience with Linux, Embedded Development, Firmware, Shell Scripting
- Experience in embedded development in C/C++
- Experience in embedded development in C/C++, or experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience from previous technical internship(s) or demonstrated project experience
- Experience with Unix and scripting in Perl, shell, C or C++
- Experience in computer architecture, or experience writing low level drivers
- Experience with RTOS or bare-metal programming
