Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Administrator to join our team, specialising in Level 3 Business Administration with Clinical Coding. This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to develop essential administrative skills while gaining specialised knowledge in clinical coding processes. You will support the smooth operation of administrative tasks within a healthcare environment, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient workflow. Responsibilities
- - Undertake clinical coding, identifying relevant clinical information from patient correspondence and accurately coding or free-texting this onto patient records
- - Deal with queries relating to clinical coding.
- - Process incoming patient correspondence, emails and documentation.
- - Scan and accurately file documents onto electronic patient records using appropriate codes.
- - Manage incoming workflow, directing correspondence to the appropriate clinician or team.
- - Provide reception support, including receiving patients and handling telephone enquiries
- .- Undertake general administrative duties relating to patient records and practice processes.
- - Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with data protection, health & safety and infection control requirements.- Communicate effectively with patients, carers, colleagues and other healthcare professionals.- Manage workload effectively and contribute to quality improvement and audit where appropriate.
- Qualifications
- Previous office experience or familiarity with administrative tasks is preferred but not essential
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and coding processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with colleagues and patients.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially in line with data protection standards.
- Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A proactive attitude with the motivation to develop skills in business administration and clinical coding.
