We are seeking a passionate, experienced and reliable Café Chef to join our friendly team at The Orchard Café, located at Trinity Buoy Wharf, Canning Town.
As an integral part of our café, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking our fresh breakfast and lunch menu, producing high-quality salads, sandwiches and grab-and-go items, and helping to create an enjoyable dining experience for our customers. This is a hands-on role that requires excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining consistently high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook our breakfast and lunch menu to a high standard.
- Prepare fresh salads, sandwiches and grab-and-go items.
- Ensure excellent food presentation, quality and consistency.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety.
- Work closely with a small, friendly team to ensure smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.
- Assist with stock rotation, food preparation and general kitchen organisation.
What We’re Looking For
- A minimum of 3 years’ professional chef experience in a busy café or commercial kitchen.
- Confident working independently during busy service periods.
- Experience preparing fresh breakfast and lunch dishes.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and excellent organisational skills.
- Food Safety Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable.
