Matrix Safety Training (Recently awarded the UK's Best Workplace Safety Operator and Instructor Training Provider 2026) are an established Health & Safety Training company based in Burton upon Trent and deliver high quality training to help companies / individuals be compliant with their duties under the Health & Safety at Work Act. We are now looking for a full time MHE/FLT trainer to join our fast-growing company
We are looking for an experienced MHE Instructor with the ability to instruct on various pieces of equipment.
Instruction will be carried out both at our training centre and at the customers sites. occasional overnight stays will be required from time to time.
Our customers are mainly based in the Midlands but on occasions you may need to travel further, but all travel costs are covered and you will be provided with a Company van. The majority of training is carried out between the hours of 8am – 4pm, but on rare occasions there is a call for Saturday work.
The responsibilities of an MHE Instructor include:
- Conducting all Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) training in line with current legislation and licence requirements
- Carrying out assessments and examinations on candidates
- Completion and submission of all course paperwork
Our ideal Forklift Instructor
- is reliable and comfortable working independently using their own initiative.
- has previous experience in an MHE training capacity.
- is computer literate and possesses strong communication skills (necessary to be successful in this position)
- Successful applicants must possess a valid UK driving licence, instructor certificate and the relevant qualifications (AITT / ITTSAR / LANTRA)
