The Role
Michaels Civic Robes ( a department of Intramark Ltd) is looking for an experienced Sewing Machinist / Seamstress to join our team in our busy workroom. For the ideal candidate we can offer on the job training.
Your main role will be to produce bespoke Civic Robes, hats, and ceremonial uniform for Councils and Local Authorities. As part of our production team, you will utilize your tailoring skills to carry out a variety of workroom duties.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Producing high-quality garments using traditional seamstress and tailoring techniques.
- Pattern cutting and garment construction to bespoke specifications.
- Preparation of orders and general workroom duties.
- Overlocking, lock stitching, and other machinery operation as required within the workroom.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Proven background as a seamstress, tailor, or highly skilled sewing machinist.
- Experience in pattern cutting and bespoke garment tailoring.
- Experience operating industrial sewing machines.
- The ability to work independently on your own initiative, as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Good written and spoken English skills.
- Basic mathematics skills (essential for measuring and pattern work).
Part-time hours will also be considered.
Pay: £13.00 per hour
