We’re looking for two Maintenance Assistants to join the team at Seamill Hydro Hotel. This is a hands-on role supporting the smooth running, upkeep and presentation of our hotel, grounds and facilities.
Working as part of our maintenance team, you’ll help ensure the hotel is safe, well-maintained and looking its best for our guests and team. From general repairs and upkeep to maintaining our grounds, gardens and windows, this is a varied role where no two days are the same.

- Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and upkeep throughout the hotel and its facilities.
- Supporting the Maintenance Manager and wider maintenance team with day-to-day maintenance tasks.
- Maintaining the hotel’s grounds and gardens, including general upkeep and presentation.
- Carrying out basic painting, decorating and general property upkeep where required.
- Assisting with planned preventative maintenance and responding to reactive maintenance issues.
- Helping to ensure hotel facilities, equipment and communal areas are safe, clean and well-maintained.
- Supporting the upkeep of outdoor areas, paths, entrances and other external spaces.
- Assisting with maintenance projects, renovations and developments within the hotel where required.
- Following all health and safety procedures and reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, groundskeeping or similar hands-on role is beneficial.
- A practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn new skills.
- Basic knowledge of general maintenance, repairs and property upkeep.
- Experience in areas such as painting, decorating, joinery, plumbing or electrical work would be advantageous.
- Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
- The flexibility to work a varied shift pattern, including some weekends. Weekend working will be shared across the team, with approximately two weekends off per month.
