Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the company’s software engineering strategy
- Lead engineering managers, software engineers, architects, and technical specialists
- Oversee the delivery of software products, platforms, integrations, and internal systems
- Establish coding, architecture, testing, security, and documentation standards
- Ensure software projects are delivered according to agreed scope, quality, budget, and timelines
- Work with product, commercial, operations, and client teams to define technology priorities
- Review system architecture and guide major technical decisions
- Improve development workflows, release processes, and engineering productivity
- Promote automated testing, continuous integration, and reliable deployment practices
- Monitor platform performance, availability, security, and technical risk
- Oversee cloud infrastructure, application modernisation, and systems integration initiatives
- Manage engineering budgets, workforce plans, suppliers, and technology resources
- Establish engineering KPIs and prepare performance reports for company leadership
- Recruit, coach, and develop engineering managers and technical professionals
- Support technical due diligence, client proposals, and solution planning
- Maintain business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident-response procedures
- Ensure engineering activities follow data protection, cybersecurity, and company requirements
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend suitable business applications
What We Are Looking For
Experience
- Eight or more years of experience in software engineering, application development, cloud technology, or a related technical field
- Substantial experience leading software engineering teams and managers
- Proven responsibility for complex software products or technology platforms
- Experience overseeing architecture, development, testing, deployment, and operational support
- Experience managing engineering budgets, delivery plans, and technical roadmaps
- Background in software consulting, SaaS, digital services, financial technology, or enterprise platforms is beneficial
Skills
- Strong software engineering and technical leadership capabilities
- Excellent understanding of modern software architecture and development practices
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, databases, security, and scalable systems

Education

Pay: £105,000.00-£138,000.00 per year
